Playing at a historic location always brings a different kind of energy. In early July 2025, the legendary Matala Beach Festival returned for its 12th year, completely transforming the iconic Cretan coastline into a massive three day celebration. Drawing thousands of people to the exact spot where the flower children once lived, the festival was an undeniable success, blending live art, street culture, and music right by the sea.
With four unique stages set up across the village, the atmosphere was constantly shifting. You could catch acoustic sets by the olive trees or massive live bands in the central square, but for the electronic music crowd, the real action happened near the breaking waves. Surrounded by the historic cliffs of the Libyan Sea, the visual setup was simply stunning.
